Annual Supper

Each fall, the Old State House Museum Associates host an Annual Supper, the most highly anticipated event of the year. This event, held in the historic 1885 House of Representatives Chamber on the second floor of the Old State House, features speakers of historical, political or regional importance. Past Suppers have been addressed by Winston Spencer Churchill; General (Retired) Wesley Clark, former commander of NATO forces; Governors Sidney McMath, Dale Bumpers, David Pryor, Frank White and Mike Beebe; William Ferris, Director of the Endowment for Humanities, and Dr. Jonathan Drummond-Webb, famed heart surgeon at Arkansas Children’s Hospital; Ed Wilson, President of Fox Television, and a number of famous authors.

Annual Supper 2023 Description (July 5, 2023)

When John Naisbitt wrote “High Tech High Touch” in 1983 he foresaw the technology boom and predicted the need to balance our lives with access to nature. In Arkansas, that balance is easily available, thanks to the 1984 Arkansas Wilderness Act, expanded wilderness designations in Arkansas and the national river designation of the Buffalo River. Help us celebrate the “The Buffalo and Beyond: Arkansas Wild Natural and Beautiful” at the Old State House Museum Annual Supper Oct. 12. We will look at the history and share thoughts about our wilderness future.
